Situated in a typical area, enviable by itself, marked by the uncountable Port wine cellars, having the River Douro as a neighbour and as a scene, the Oporto “Ribeira”, an old and long-abandoned store, was what was presented to me, stone walls, log-beam ceilings, already eroded by the age, that’s all that was remaining, as a legacy from the past.
The idea was tempting and attractive, with the little that was left, make a space to lodge, not only some Port-wine cellars for visitors , who wander along the city, including the offices for the firm which produces a well-known brand of this sweet delicious drink.
Everything was “almost” possible from then on …
